Our three solo shows will run concurrently.
Papamichael’s bold and witty paintings invite us to see art history, feminism, and politics from fresh and surprising perspectives. The exhibition takes its title from the theatre of Bertolt Brecht, who aimed to disrupt familiar stories to make audiences think more critically. Papamichael takes a similar approach: by painting herself into famous artworks, she challenges long-held assumptions about power, gender, and representation.
Alongside these art-historical interventions, the exhibition also features her satirical series created during the global pandemic. These paintings take a sharp, often humorous look at the politicians and world leaders who shaped the crisis, offering a powerful commentary on leadership, responsibility, and public trust. Papamichael has expanded this satirical commentary by the creation of a collection of clothing that uses the imagery of her paintings – these will be unveiled in a Fashion Show to be held at the Gallery on 30th October 2025.
Making Strange is on show in the Upper Gallery.
Alongside the paintings, we will present "Wings, Horns and Humans" a solo exhibition of sculpture by renowned figurative sculptor, Lucianne Lassalle.
In our Lower Gallery we will be presenting New work by highly sought after painter, Matt Lambert.
