Dr Viktor Schroeder's work deals with the inevitability of death and, in doing so, raises questions about how best to live. Reminiscent of Vanitas paintings Schroeder's melancholic assemblages of found objects ask us to contemplate our own mortality. In the past year he has shown in both London and South Africa and his work has been included in sales at Christies and Bonhams.
